西非書面字母

西非書面字母（西非書面文字：，N'Ko），又称西非書面文字、西非書面語言，音譯恩科字母，是一種用來記錄西非曼德語族語言的字母，並且該語族的共同標準書面語也使用這種字母書寫。N'Ko在所有的曼德語族語言中意為「我說」。

這種字母較爲類似阿拉伯字母，尤在於其有一條在下方的基線並且同樣右起橫書。與阿拉伯字母不同的地方在於，其必須寫出元音和輔音。西非書面字母的音調作爲附標標註，這與阿拉伯語的元音標記類似。

歷史
爲了回擊世人認爲非洲人是沒有文化的人的理念而創建了西非書面字母，因爲在那之前，非洲本地沒有自己的書寫系統。西非書面字母首先啓用於幾內亞的康康區，作爲一種字母而傳播到西非其他說曼德語系的地方。西非通用字母日在4月14日，这天與1949年該字母被確立的日期有一定關係。

字母的引入促進了西非的英語國家和法語國家的西非通用字母掃盲運動的興起。西非通用字母對塑造幾內亞的曼德文化特徵起重要作用，並且它也在很大程度上加強了西非其他地區的曼德文化的存在感。

元音
輔音
在輔音字母上添加一些附標可以來使字母覆蓋曼德語系中沒有的發音，例如gb-dot中的/g/ (一個和/ɣ/不同的音)和f-dot的/v/.

音調
西非書面字母使用附標 來表示聲調和音長。和平元音一起，西非書面字母分四種音調：高調、低調、升調和降調；還有兩個元音長度：長音和短音。但是沒有附標來表示短音和降調。

西非書面字母和電子計算機
隨着計算機的普及與信息技術的發展，西非書面字母在電子計算機上的使用成爲一個挑戰。從二十世紀九十年代起，通過開發相關的軟件和字體，使用西非書面字母的網頁和支持它的字體漸漸增加。例如，開羅大學的巴巴•馬碼迪亞尼教授開發了一個名為「科瑪•庫達」的DOS文字處理軟件。然而它們之所以發展困難，是因爲這些解決方案中普遍存在兼容性缺乏的固有阻礙。

Pango 1.18版和GNOME 2.20版有對N'ko文的原生顯示支持。iOS和Microsoft Windows上都有支持該文字的軟體，該文字亦有自己的電腦字體。另外，該文字於2019年11月擁有了自己的維基百科。

統一碼
UNESCO的主动巴别計劃（）建議把西非書面文字編碼到統一碼中。2004年，國際標準組織的WG2工作小組經投票後覈准通過了關於西非書面文字的建議，其由在葉密豪處工作的三名教授提出。2006年6月，西非書面文字添加到了統一碼5.0中。

書面語言
西非書面文字文學正在演變成書面語言，它被稱爲“康柏”或“晴明語言”，這種語言是基於幾個曼德語系語言形成的標準語。講曼德語言的人用“康柏”筆談，這和東亞地區的文言文、歐洲的拉丁文比較相似。 例如，在巴馬曼語中，單詞「名字」是tɔgɔ而在曼寧卡語中它是toh。在書面交流時，這個單詞將用西非書面文字寫成tô，但讀時還是用各自的語言發音。
