Voseo

Voseo（）指的是在拉丁美洲的某些西班牙語方言中，第二人稱單數代詞使用“vos”以及相應的動詞變位形式的現象。但在除尼加拉瓜和哥斯大黎加兩國以外的國家，電視廣播等媒體中還是更常用tú。而在尼加拉瓜與哥斯大黎加，人們幾乎從不使用tú。

書面語方面，voseo被阿根廷、巴拉圭與烏拉圭3國規定為標準西班牙語語法，並廣泛使用於這3個國家的出版物和電視字幕之中。另外，代詞vos偶爾也會使用，但書面語則只使用tuteo}}

在當時，當與一個不熟悉的人對話時，標準的稱呼對方的方式並不是vos，而是“vuestra merced”（可縮寫為“v.m.”），其對應的複數形式是“vuestra mercedes”；而在其後所接的動詞則採用第三人稱的變位形式（由merced／mercedes決定）。其他的一些類似說法有“vuestra excelencia”（可縮寫為“ussencia”）以及“vuestra señoria”（可縮寫為“ussia”）。而vos與tú都不是第二人稱單數代詞的尊敬形式。在大部份兩者都存在的地區，vos被認為是tú的同義詞，因此在拉布拉他河地區（布宜諾斯艾利斯與蒙特維多附近）和智利的voseo才得以發展。隨著時間的推移，vos在西班牙漸漸失傳，但在拉丁美洲的許多地區則得以保留；而vuestra merced則演變成了現在的“usted”（vuestra merced -> usarced -> usted）。要注意的是，現在的“vosotros”是“vos otros”的連寫形式，它後接的動詞採用vos的變位形式。

直到19世紀前期，voseo在智利的使用都與在阿根廷一樣頻繁，但現在voseo的使用卻受到了極大的限制。這是因為在智利的教育系統中，安德烈斯·貝約曾經發起過一場剷除voseo的運動。這種變化發生於14至15世紀： “-ades”變為“-áis”，“-edes”變為“-és”或“-ís”，“-ides”變為“-ís”，“-odes”變為“-óis”。

Voseo使用於境內某些地區的國家
在以下這些國家中，voseo在某些地區被廣泛使用：

  • 厄瓜多：安地斯山區、中部地區和埃斯梅拉達斯
  • 巴拿馬：西部與哥斯大黎加的邊界附近以及阿蘇埃羅半島
  • 委內瑞拉：西北部地區，主要集中在蘇利亞州
  • 墨西哥：廣泛使用在恰帕斯州的鄉村地區，在猶加敦州、塔巴斯科州和金塔納羅奧州也有零星分佈。主要由未受過良好教育的原住民使用。
  • 秘魯：在北部和南部的一些地區使用，特別是在阿雷基帕附近。

*美國本土：來自中美洲（特別是薩爾瓦多）的移民會使用voseo，但並沒有明顯的地區集中傾向。

Voseo用法已經消失的國家和地區

其他
在西班牙語中第二人稱單數代詞有多種形式。在某些地區，家人和朋友之間會使用代詞vos指稱對方，而在其他地區同樣的情況下會使用tú。而在面對陌生人、長輩或者社會地位高於自己的人時，則會使用尊敬用法usted。但在不同方言中，它們的使用對象有細微的差別。例如在中美洲的一些地區，只要是認為與自己身分地位差不多的人都可以使用vos。而在拉迪諾語中，usted已經完全消失，面對陌生人和長輩時只用vos稱呼對方。

Voseo用法曾經在很長時期以內倍受語言學家的責難，因為他們認為只有卡斯蒂利亞西班牙語才是“好的”西班牙語。現在這種現象已大有改觀，voseo一般被視作西班牙語的一種地方性語法現象。
