墨西哥城地铁共有12条线路，以不同颜色和编号区分（编号从1至9，加上12、A和B）。其中，A线列车使用钢制车轮，其余线路列车使用橡胶轮胎。地铁线路总长200.8千米，共195个车站。115个车站建在地下，地面车站54个，高架桥车站26个。墨西哥城辖内车站164个，墨西哥州辖内车站11个。

墨西哥城地鐵是全世界海拔最高的地鐵，達2300米高。
