威廉·E·舒尔曼

威廉·E·舒尔曼（William E. Scheuerman，1965—）是一位美国哲学家，现任印第安纳大学布卢明顿分校詹姆斯·H·鲁迪（James H. Rudy）政治学讲席教授，以其在德国政治理论方面的研究而闻名。

生平
1987年在耶鲁大学获得哲学学士学位，期间曾参加由韦恩州立大学赞助的“慕尼黑大学大三留学项目”于1985年至1986年在慕尼黑大学留学一年。1987年起，他在哈佛大学政府系攻读博士学位，期间于1990年至1991年在德国法兰克福大学学习一年。1993年获得政治学博士学位，博士论文题为《理性、激进主义与法治：法兰克福学派与现代法律危机》。他的论文指导委员会成员包括朱迪思·N·施克莱（联合主席）、塞拉·本哈比（联合主席）、迈克尔·桑德尔和邦妮·霍尼格。

他曾任匹兹堡大学助理教授（1993-1998）和副教授（1998-2000）、明尼苏达大学副教授（2000-2003）和政治学教授兼法学系客座教授（2003-2005）。此后，他一直在印第安纳大学担任政治学教授。

奖项
他凭借著作《规范与例外之间：法兰克福学派与法治》于1996年荣获大卫和伊莱恩·斯皮茨奖。他曾获得德国学术交流中心、洪堡研究奖，并于2016年获得富布赖特奖。
