1972年冬季奧林匹克運動會日本代表團是日本所派出的1972年冬季奧林匹克運動會代表團。這是該國首次以東道主身分參賽。日本隊派出了90名運動員，其中包括70名男運動員和20名女運動員，以及20名官員。日本代表團的旗手益子峰行沒有參加比賽，而是擔任了代表團的領隊。

日本滑雪運動員笠谷幸生在跳台滑雪項目贏得金牌，成為第一位亞洲籍冬季奧運金牌得主。
