雖然《天文台》並非由格林威治皇家天文台出版，但會發布其會議報告。《天文台》特色包括大量的書評、通信、論文摘要、訃告，以及「這裡和那裡」：匯集了印刷錯誤和與天文學相關的荒謬言論的期刊。自2025年起，《天文台》已成為一份鑽石級的開放出版品。
