接縫區（）指以色列1949年停火線與實際邊境牆之間的一小塊緩衝區，旨在減少巴勒斯坦自治政府管治區內恐怖分子向以色列領土滲透的威脅。

2000年9月第二次巴勒斯坦大暴動爆發後，以色列境內的恐怖襲擊數量迅速增長。當時，每日有數以萬計的巴勒斯坦籍非法入境者從約旦河西岸滲入以色列領土，其中有自殺式及汽車炸彈襲擊者混入，對以色列國民生命安全及社會安寧造成威脅。

為保障國家安全及防止恐怖襲擊，以色列沿猶太-撒馬利亞區的邊界建造邊境牆及安全檢查站，並部署以色列邊境警察及以色列國防軍部隊在接縫區巡邏，使巴勒斯坦恐怖分子難以滲入以色列本土。

儘管國際社會對接縫區的設立有所非議，該緩衝區的存在保障了人民的生命安全。統計數據已證實邊境牆的有效性：已建造邊境牆的地方，恐怖襲擊次數便較少。例如在撒馬利亞地區，襲擊事件及受害者數量都減少了80%以上。
