永恒的柔佛苏丹伊斯迈爵士，已故伟大的苏丹易卜拉欣爵士之子 KBE CMG（马来语：Sir Sultan Ismail Al Khalidi Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Sir Ibrahim Al-Masyhur），简称苏丹伊斯迈（马来语：Sultan Ismail I），现代柔佛及天猛公家族的第三任苏丹，柔佛第23任苏丹。苏丹易卜拉欣一世及苏丹后翁姑麦姆娜·宾蒂·翁姑阿都马吉德之子。前苏丹苏丹马末·依斯干达之父，现苏丹苏丹依布拉欣·依斯迈祖父。尊号永恒的（马来语：Al Khalidi）。
摄政王储
其父亲苏丹易卜拉欣多次到外国探访旅行，东姑伊斯迈在1928年被委任为柔佛摄政王。在日本入侵马来半岛时，东姑伊斯迈逃往英国，以避免日本操控他并代替其父亲成为苏丹。
苏丹生涯
1959年5月8日，伊斯迈的父亲苏丹易卜拉欣一世驾崩。伊斯迈成为柔佛苏丹，并于1959年11月2日在新山大皇宫加冕。众所周知，苏丹与他的臣民非常亲近; 他每年都会访问柔佛州所有八个地区的选定村庄，并经常结识为州政府工作的公务员。
王位继承
1961年8月10日，他废除了行为不当的长子，时任王储东姑马末·依斯干达的王储位。次子东姑阿都拉曼继承了王储位。但在1981年四月时，苏丹死的前一个月，苏丹伊斯迈重新任命东姑马末·依斯干达为王储。5月苏丹驾崩，东姑马末·依斯干达继承王位，成为第四任苏丹。
个人生活
苏丹伊斯迈生性温顺安静，并且是一位动物爱好者，在建立新山动物园方面发挥了重要的作用。他收藏了鹿、鳄鱼的野生动物。在华人社区，他被亲切的称呼为老苏丹（Lau Sultan）。苏丹伊斯迈有过两次婚姻，两位妻子都获得了苏丹-{后}-的头衔：
*第一任妻子：苏丹-{后}-翁姑·敦阿米娜·宾蒂·翁姑阿末（1905年2月5日-1977年9月14日，死于车祸），两人共育有7个孩子，有3个活到成年。

1977年8月，苏丹伊斯梅尔和他的妻子苏丹-{后}-翁姑·敦阿米娜·宾蒂·翁姑阿末在古来遭遇车祸。在這場車禍中蘇丹-{后}-的髮簪刺入她的頭部，讓她一直处于植物人状态，直到一个月后因脑损伤去世，而苏丹只受了轻伤。苏丹伊斯梅尔于 1977年11月与东姑诺拉再婚。东姑诺拉随后于1978年10月加冕为苏丹-{后}-。
1975年,马来西亚工艺大学成立，苏丹伊斯迈是该校的第一任校长。
