菲利斯·尼科爾森（，）是一名英國數學家、物理學家，因與約翰·克蘭克一起研究克蘭克－尼科爾森方法而知名。
早期生活與教育
尼科爾森出生於馬格斯菲特，曾就讀於。她在1938年獲得曼徹斯特大學理學學士學位，1939年獲得理學碩士學位，1946年以論文《理論物理的三個問題》獲得理學博士學位。
哈特里微分分析器的工作
尼科爾森的博士學位原預計於1941年提交，但由於1940年至1945年在曼徹斯特大學的道格拉斯·哈特里研究小組的戰時工作被打斷。在這期間，尼科爾森成為一名熟練的數值分析員和哈特里的使用專家。尼科爾森與研究小組的其他成員一起為（後為）研究與國防相關的問題，這兩個機構都屬於。尼科爾森在戰時的兩項重要研究：「單陽極磁控管的瞬態行為」與「熱傳導」，構成了她1946年博士論文《理論物理的三個問題》第二及第三部分的基礎。
戰後生活和工作
尼科爾森從1945年起在劍橋大學做研究，1946年在曼徹斯特維多利亞大學（今曼徹斯特大學）完成了她的博士論文。尼科爾森在1950年1月左右與她的丈夫麥爾坎·尼科爾森（Malcolm Nicolson，也是一名物理學家）一起搬到里兹}-，因為他被任命為里兹大學的物理學講師與地質學。
1968年，尼科爾森因罹患乳癌而在雪菲爾逝世。
