露絲·鮑爾·賈華拉（，），英國作家。曾於1975年獲布克獎，亦於1986年及1992年分別兩次拿下奧斯卡最佳改編劇本獎。

生平
生於德國科隆，波蘭的猶太人，1939年舉家從納粹德國逃往英國，1948年獲英國籍。1951年於伦敦玛丽王后大学畢業，獲英語文學碩士學位；同年與一名印度建築師Cyrus H. Jhabvala結婚，其後二人移居印度德里，育有三名女兒。1975年賈華拉搬往紐約，後歸化美國籍。

事業
賈華拉與莫香特艾佛利電影製作公司長期合作。該公司由電影導演詹姆斯·艾佛利（James Ivory）以及後來加入的製片人伊斯梅尔·莫香特所組成，因善於用唯美手法把描述二十世紀初英國的小說搬上銀幕而聞名，旗下作品更曾拿下六座奧斯卡金像獎；他們三人亦因此被稱之為「三頭神」（但他們其實沒有一個是土生土長的英國人）。

小說代表作為《》（暫譯，原名Heat and Dust），也即是1975年的布克獎得主；亦把不少以英國中上流社會為背景的小說改編成劇本，更因改編E·M·福斯特的《霍華德莊園;}-》及《窗外有藍天;}-》為劇本而兩次獲得奧斯卡最佳改編劇本獎。
