在MBC節目《黄金渔场 Radio Star》的訪談中，田小娟表示，〈Latata〉的副歌靈感來自韓國喜劇演員宋俊根的口頭禪。她進一步解釋說：「當時，我對宋俊根在KBS2的搞笑演唱會這個節目中的角色‘Gonzalez’所使用的口頭禪 ‘Ratata Arata’ 印象深刻。之後，我在聆聽拉丁音樂時，這個詞突然浮現在腦海中，於是〈Latata〉就誕生了。」
商業表現
"Latata" did not enter the Gaon Digital Chart in its first week, but did enter the componing Download Chart at number 68, peaking at number 8 the following week. In its second week, the song debuted at number 35 on the Gaon Digital Chart as a "hot" song and peaked at number 16 two weeks later. It also entered at number 66 on the componing Streaming Chart and peaked at number 23 the following week. The song entered at number 4 on the Gaon Social Chart, and climbed to number 3 the following week.
In the United States, the song entered at number 11 on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart, and climbed to number 4 the following week, selling 1,000 copies, making it the best-selling K-pop song in the week of May 10. The song has sold 3,000 copies in America as of August 2018.
In September 2020, "Latata" music video surpassed 160 million combined views for the official music video uploaded on 1theK's channel and (G)I-dle's official channel.
