安圭拉於1980年12月由聖基茨和尼維斯脫離，並成為英國皇家殖民地。在此之前，律政司為代表「聖克里斯托島、尼維斯島及安圭拉島」（St. Christopher Nevis and Anguilla）。即使在1982年安圭拉通過新憲法時，某些記錄仍然顯示相同的律政司職銜。
