薩尼奇語

薩尼奇語（Saanich，也稱為 Sənčáθən；在薩尼奇正字法中寫為 SENĆOŦEN，發音為 [sənˈt͡ʃaθən]）是加拿大西岸英屬哥倫比亞海岸及溫哥華島東岸地區、與美國華盛頓州北部海岸地區的語言。薩尼奇語是屬於北方海峽薩利希語連續體的成員，亦是一種。而北方海峽薩利希語的延伸語言跟密切相關。

書寫系統
薩尼奇語正字法是由"戴夫·埃利奧特"(Dave Elliott)於 1978 年創建。正字法只使用大寫字母；使其成為一個只有大寫字母的語言，只有一個例外：字母 s，它標誌為第三人稱所有格的後綴。不過在薩尼奇語的介紹網頁裏，亦有大小寫字母的轉換設定。薩尼奇語字使用37個拉丁字母及1個表示聲門塞音/ʔ/的逗號《,》；字母方面除基本的拉丁字母外，另外加上拉丁修饰字母、以及擴展拉丁字母等。

語音
聲門塞音 /ʔ/ 並不經常表示出來一般可以省略，但亦可以用逗號書寫：《,》。

不區分普通音以及聲門諧音。

元音/e/通常寫為 Á，除非它緊接著後軟齶音 (/k̠ k̠ʷ k̠ʼ k̠ʷʼ x̠ x̠ʷ ŋ̠ ŋ̠ʷ/) ，這時元音會寫成 A。

聯合國世界人權宣言
世界人權宣言是联合国大会於1948年12月10日在法國巴黎夏樂宮通過的一份旨在維護人类基本权利的文献(聯合國大會第217號決議，A/RES/217)。宣言起草的直接原因是對第二次世界大戰的反省，是第一份在全球範圍內表述所有人類都應該享有的權利的文件。
