伊麗莎白·布萊克威爾

伊麗莎白·布萊克威爾（，），美国第一位获得医学学位的妇女，也是醫學總會中第一位女性。1849年，布萊克韋爾在《英國醫學期刊》發表有關伤寒的論文，布萊克韋爾也成為第一位在該雜誌發表文章的在美國學習過的女性。1857年，布萊克威爾与妹妹艾米莉（Emily）共同创立了。

1907年，布莱克威尔在蘇格蘭度假，在走樓梯時不慎摔跤。1910年，她因中风在家中去世。

後世為了紀念她，每年向促进女性醫療事業做出重大贡献的女性颁发伊丽莎白·布莱克威尔勋章（Elizabeth Blackwell Medal）。
