伊博語

伊博語（，古语為），又譯作伊格博語，是一種通行於西非國家尼日利亞的伊博族語言，屬於尼日爾-剛果語系的大西洋語支，有主要語言人口1800萬。伊博語是一種重視聲調的語言，在英國殖民時代引進了書寫系統，以拉丁字母來構字。伊博語之下有超過20種方言。1972年出現了標準語，基於奧韋里及乌穆阿希亚的地區方言發展而成，但是其中的鼻化元音及送氣等特徵在標準化的過程中消失了。

除了伊博語外，伊博族語言中還存在許多分支，其中最主要的是埃佩耶語（Ekpeye）。除了伊博語之外，伊博族語言也有其他形成標準語的語言，如伊卡語（Ika）。

語法
語序
伊博語的語序如下：
*基本語序：主詞─-{zh-tw:動詞; zh-cn:谓语;}-─受詞(SVO)
*介詞多為前置詞
*名詞領屬者、形容詞、指示詞、數詞、關係子句等皆置於其所修飾的名詞後。

動詞
伊博語的動詞會與「不可分代詞」連用；另外伊博語的一些詞綴與詞幹有母音和諧的現象。

伊博語的不可分代詞用法如下：
*第一人稱單數：動詞詞幹+m
*第二人稱單數：i/ị+動詞詞幹
*第三人稱單數：o/ọ+動詞詞幹
眾數形人稱代詞沒有不可分形；第二人稱單數和第三人稱單數的不可分代詞與須對動詞詞幹的母音發生母音和諧；另外使用第一人稱單數的不可分代詞時，動詞詞幹前方要加前綴a-/e-，該前綴對詞幹的母音發生母音和諧。

伊博語的否定構造法如下：
*一般否定形：e-動詞詞幹+ghi/a-動詞詞幹+ghị
*命令否定形：e+動詞詞幹+ne/a+動詞詞幹+na，使用哪個視詞幹母音為何而定

以下顯示伊博語的動詞與代詞的用法：

bi（意即「住」）的各種形式：
*ebi m - 我住
*i bi - 你住
*o bi - 他住
*anyị bi - 我們住
*unu bi - 你們住
*ha bi - 他們住

chị（意即「帶」）的各種形式：
*chị m - 我帶
*ị chị - 你帶
*ọ chị - 他帶
*anyị chị - 我們帶
*unu chị - 你們帶
*ha chị - 他們帶

否定用例：
*aha m bụ ___ - 我的名字是___
*aha m abụghị ___ - 我的名字不是___

書寫系統
伊博語的書寫系統是一種基於拉丁字母的系統，被稱為昂烏字母(Onwu Alphabet)。以下為昂烏字母與其相對應之IPA符號的對照：

Tones are sometimes indicated in writing, and sometimes not. When tone is indicated, low tones are shown with a grave accent over the vowel, for example , and high tones with an acute accent over the vowel, for example .
