貝比·魯斯獎（）是頒發給在季後賽中表現最傑出的球員的獎項。1948年，「棒球之神」貝比·魯斯去世。於是全美棒球記者協會創立此獎項，並在1949年開始頒布這個獎項。由於此獎項並非由大聯盟官方頒發，加上頒發時間都在世界大賽結束後沒多久，因此該獎項並沒有世界大賽最有價值球員獎如此出名。2006年以前，全美棒球記者協會只會依照球員在世界大賽的表現來票選出表現最傑出的選手。不過從1969年開始，大聯盟就已經在季後賽做出改制。而該獎項也因此被批評跟世界大賽最有價值球員獎一樣。因此從2007年開始，全美棒球記者協會開始依球員在整個季後賽(含外卡賽、分區賽與冠軍賽)的表現來選出表現最好的球員。
儘管魯斯生前是一名眾所皆知的強打者，不過此獎也會頒發給一些出色的防守者。像是1974年得主Dick Green，他在世界大賽連一支安打都打不出來，但卻靠著優異的防守能力幫助球隊贏球。
紐約洋基的喬·佩吉成為第一位獲得此獎的選手。喬納森·派柏邦成為票選改制後的首位獲獎者。路易斯·提安特和藍迪·亞羅薩倫納是唯二位在世界大賽輸球，卻拿下此獎的球員。山迪·柯法斯和傑克·莫里斯是唯二位獲得此獎兩次的球員。
