隱棘鳚科（）為輻鰭魚綱鱸形目的其中一個科。
命名
1839年，美國醫生兼博物學家大衛·漢弗萊斯·斯托勒(David Humphreys Storer)首次提出隱棘魚屬(Cryptacanthodes)作為單型屬，他描述了採自麻薩諸塞州緬因灣波士頓港的斑點隱棘魚(Cryptacanthodes maculatus)。該屬是隱棘魚科(Cryptacanthodidae)的唯一屬，該科由西奧多·吉爾(Theodore Gill)於1861年命名。
