厄尼絲·羅貝塔·亨頓·卡特（，）是一名美國律師。她是紐約首位非洲裔美國女律師之一，也是美國首位有色人種的檢察官之一。她積極參與和聯合國委員會，以提高世界婦女的地位。她還幫助紐約地方檢察官湯瑪斯·杜威以強迫賣淫罪成功指控黑手黨老大查理·「幸運」·盧西安諾。
婚姻和家庭
她嫁給了老利斯爾·卡特（Lisle Carter, Sr.），老利斯爾是紐約首位非裔美國牙醫之一。他們在曼哈頓的哈林區生活了很多年。這對夫婦唯一的孩子是，他畢業於大學和法學院。他從事法律工作，後來在約翰·甘迺迪和林登·莊遜的政府中擔任政治任命官員。小利斯爾·卡特有5個孩子，其中一個是作家兼耶魯法學院教授，他在2018年出版了一本關於厄尼絲·卡特的傳記書，書名叫《Invisible: The Forgotten Story of the Black Woman Lawyer Who Took Down America's Most Powerful Mobster》。
