夏偉（Orville Schell）是一名美國作家、學者和社會運動家，以中國研究聞名。現任亞洲協會中美關係中心主任，曾任加利福尼亞大學柏克萊分校新聞學院院長。
先後就讀、哈佛大學，1964年畢業後任職於雅加達福特基金會。其後返回美國就讀加利福尼亞大學柏克萊分校，先後取得碩士和博士學位，期間擔任的助理並且共同創立了。就學期間亦遇上反越戰運動，他亦有投身其中。
