叉龍科

叉龍科（學名：Dicraeosauridae）是蜥腳下目梁龍超科的一個演化支，與梁龍科同屬於鞭尾類底下的姊妹分類單元。叉龍科包含了阿馬加龍、春雷龍、叉龍、短頸潘龍等屬。標本在北美洲、南美洲、非洲、亞洲都有發現。地質年代約從侏儸紀早期或中期到白堊紀早期。叉龍科可能在新蜥腳類發展的非常早期就演化出來。

1914年，德國古生物學家在坦尚尼亞發現的叉龍敘述中一同提到了叉龍科。叉龍科因為牠們相對短的頸部和較小的體型，而在蜥腳類中相當獨特。春雷龍在叉龍科或梁龍科的支序位置，對於研究叉龍科的演化具有重要的生物地理學意義。

叉龍科屬於梁龍超科底下的一個分支，並與梁龍科互成姊妹群。過去二十年以來，該科已知的物種數增加至原本的兩倍以上。而2016年對阿馬格巨龍的重新檢視也將牠納入叉龍科中。2018年，新屬皮爾馬圖埃龍和靈武龍叉龍科是單系群新蜥腳類中的一個先進演化支，後者以普遍的巨大化趨勢聞名，但前者縮小的體型成為後者中的例外。

系統發生學
已經提出了幾個不同的系統發生學分析，但科內關係仍未得到解決。春雷龍的位置有不同變動（基礎叉龍科或基礎梁龍科）。以下演化樹取自Tschopp等人（2015）：。

古生物學
覓食習性
作為蜥腳類，叉龍科是專門的植食性動物。根據牠們相對較小的頸部和頭骨，可以推測叉龍科和梁龍科主要在接近地面或中等高處覓食。與已知的親緣物種相比，叉龍的獨特之處在於上頜和下頜牙齒數量相等，而下頜牙齒汰換速率較慢。在短頸部方面，以短頸潘龍的頸部最短（短於其他叉龍科40％）、叉龍次之。在神經棘方面，叉龍的神經棘高度中等，而在阿馬加龍、巴哈達龍達到極致，神經棘極度加長變成刺狀。13個共有衍徵例如：背椎無側凹、鱗狀骨有腹刺、亞三角形的齒骨聯合等。

分布和演化
叉龍科物種主要分佈於岡瓦那大陸，南美洲有短頸潘龍、阿馬加龍、阿馬格巨龍、皮爾馬圖埃龍、巴哈達龍；非洲有叉龍。北美洲的春雷龍是個例外，使牠的確切分類位置顯得關鍵。這個演化支可能在侏儸紀中期與梁龍科分開，並擴散至岡瓦納大陸，於東非和南美達到高度多樣化。白堊紀早期的阿馬加龍是已知最年輕的叉龍科。2018年發表的靈武龍將叉龍科的起源再提早了100萬年，代表這個演化支在比原先預料的更早之前就已經分化出來，並且將地理分佈延伸至中亞，其在研究新蜥腳類的演化與古生物地理學上意義非凡。
