袁新意 （），祖籍湖北麻城，是一位华人数学家，几何学家和数论学家，目前担任加州大学伯克利分校数学教授。目前他的研究包括、丢番图方程、志村簇和自守形式，尤其是算术交叉理论、代数动力学、丢番图方程和L函数的特殊值。
生平
1997年毕业于麻城市宋埠镇中学，2000年毕业于黄冈中学，同年参加第41届国际数学奥林匹克竞赛获得金牌。2003年毕业于北京大学数学系，北大同班同学还有张伟、恽之玮和朱歆文等。2008年在华人数学家张寿武指导下拿到哥伦比亚大学博士学位。
他在普林斯顿高等研究院和哈佛大学做过研究，2012年加入加州大学伯克利分校。2008年至2013年担任克雷数学研究所研究员，还和其他同事一起，被《量子杂志》和《商业内幕》报道过。
