焚毀賈夫納公共圖書館

焚毀賈夫納公共圖書館（, Yāḻ potu nūlakam erippu）是斯里蘭卡內戰爆發前後所發生的重要事件，也是20世紀大規模焚燒民族文學作品的事件之一。1981年6月1日晚間，僧伽羅人暴徒暴怒，焚燒賈夫納公共圖書館。此次暴行据说是由统一国民党组织的。

賈夫納公共圖書館遭到焚毀前，也被列為當時亞洲最大的圖書館之一，擁有超過97,000本書籍和手稿，但最終這些書籍都遭到焚毀，包括帶有重要歷史價值的「棕櫚葉卷軸」。這起具種族意涵的書籍破壞行為，導致坦米爾人相信政府不會保護他們及其文化，也使許多坦米爾人開始支持建立從斯里蘭卡分離的獨立國家。
