贵族政治

貴族政治（英語：Aristocracy，源自古希臘語ἀριστοκρατίᾱ，意即「由最佳者之統治」），或稱貴族制等，是一種將權力置於少數特權統治階級（貴族階級）控制的政府形式。

柏拉圖、蘇格拉底、亞里斯多德、色諾芬和斯巴達人認為貴族制（少數人統治的理想形式）本質上比多數人統治的理想形式更好，但也認為貴族制的腐敗形式（寡頭政治）比腐敗的民主形式（暴民統治）更不可欲。 這種信念植根於如此假設：大眾只能制定品質普通的政策，而最優秀的人可能制定出最好的政策，如果他們能力確實最突出。
