2014年9月8日，在瑞士尼永舉行的歐足聯執行委員會會議決議2016年的歐洲超級盃將在挪威特隆赫姆的拉簡度球場舉行，這將是挪威第一次舉辦歐洲超級盃。拉簡度球場在1947年8月10日被開闢為多用途體育館，是挪威當地足球聯賽洛辛堡BK的主場場地，該體育場是全座位的現代化體育場，容量為21,166人，是挪威第二大的足球場。
