正午標是日晷的一種，最簡單的就是在南向牆面上的一條垂直線，或在水平鋪石路面上的一條南北線。當陰影的點（或太陽投影的圖像）跨越線時就是正午。正午是地方標準時，定義是當太陽在子午線的時刻，但是鐘錶顯示的地方平時，每天與地方標準時都會有數分鐘的差異。這種差異稱為均時差，可以經由繪製日行跡，或使用校正表標示在正午標上來修正。
