廣播波形格式

廣播波形格式（Broadcast Wave Format），是一種基於非線性数字视频录像机的記錄格式，擴展了Microsoft WAVE流行音頻格式，一般被用於電影、廣播和電視製作。这种格式最初由歐洲廣播聯盟在1997年制定，並於2001年和2003年進行更新。

这种文件格式的目的是增加元数据的类型，以方便音频数据在不同的计算机平台和应用程序之间的无缝交换。这种格式指定了元数据的类型，这使得音频处理单元能鉴别自身种类并记录自身活动，并使不同音轨之间的同步成为可能。这些元数据将被存储在标准数字音频WAV文件的额外区块中。

除了共同波形塊以外，可能的区块内容包括：

• 原Bext塊（廣播擴展 - 'bext'）
• iXML塊（'iXML'）
• 質量塊（'qlty'）
• MPEG 音頻擴展塊（'mext'）
• 峰值包絡塊（'levl'）
• 鏈接塊（'link'）
• axml塊（'axml'）

WAV兼容性

• RF64作為一擴展它是一種兼容廣播波形格式的多聲道文件格式，支持大小超過4GiB的音頻文件
• axml塊允許用戶將數據兼容音頻XML格式；axml塊可以含有一個或多個模式的數據片段。
• 廣播波形格式規定在由電影電視工程師協會定義的 MXF 上使用
• 廣播波形格式規定在 AES31使用
