棒旋星系（），或稱為棒狀旋星系，指的是中間具有由恆星聚集組成短棒形狀的螺旋星系。大約三分之二的螺旋星系是棒旋星系。短棒通常會影響在棒旋星系裏的恆星與星際氣體的運動，它也會影響旋臂。棒旋星系的旋臂則看似由短棒的末端湧現。而在普通的螺旋星系，恆星都是由核心直接湧出的。

分類
棒旋星系在星系分類法以符號SB（旋臂帶狀）表示。子分類是基於螺旋臂的開合程度，分類如下：
*SBa型態具有緊密綁定的螺旋臂
*SBc型態則是另一個極端，其螺旋臂綁定較為鬆散
*SBb星系位於兩者之間
*SBm描述了稍微不規則的帶狀螺旋星系
*SB0是帶狀透鏡狀星系
*SAB表示从较弱的棒状结构两端向外延伸，又称“中间螺旋星系”或者“半棒旋星系”
