2014年至2015年球季是曼聯在英超聯的第23個球季，亦是球隊連續第40個球季於英格蘭的頂級聯賽角逐。曼聯將在2014年8月開始本賽季，開始本賽季的英超聯賽征戰。除了這個，他們也將參加兩個國內杯賽，足總杯和聯賽杯。 這亦將是自1989-90年的首個賽季之後，即是英超聯成立之後首次缺席任何歐洲賽事。
背景
曼聯在上個賽季只得到了第七名，是自成立英超以來最差的成績，導致球隊自1995-96賽季後第一次缺席歐洲冠軍聯賽賽事，他成為曼聯創立以來首位外籍領隊，雲高爾任命了前曼聯隊長吉格斯為助理領隊，為助理教練並擔任專門偵察對手的球探，作為門將教練。
三位2008年歐聯功臣埃弗拉、里奧費迪南及維迪奇在季前宣佈離隊，埃弗拉及維迪奇轉戰意甲先後加盟祖雲達斯及國際米蘭；里奧費迪南則轉投倫敦球會女王公園巡遊者。曼聯在2014年6月26日完成今屆首兩個收購，由畢爾巴鄂競技以2,900萬英磅收購中場球員安德爾·埃雷拉以及由南安普頓以2,700萬英磅收購後防球員盧克·肖。由於擔任上季的正副隊長維迪奇及埃弗拉離隊，由8月13日開始由魯尼及弗萊徹擔任正隊長及副隊長。8月27日，曼聯正式宣佈皇家馬德里球星迪瑪利亞加盟球隊，轉會費5970万英镑。8月30日，阿賈克斯宣佈荷蘭國腳布林德轉會曼聯，轉會費為1400萬英鎊。

季前熱身賽和友誼賽
曼聯今季熱身賽主要在美國進行，這次美國之旅是為了參加國際挑戰盃（International Champions Cup）。在7月24日開始季前熱身賽，首場熱身賽的對手是洛杉磯銀河，該場亦是新帥雲高爾執教首場比賽。其後將在7月26日，7月30日和8月2日迎戰羅馬，國際米蘭和皇家馬德里。最後曼聯將返回自己的主場踢最後一場友誼賽，而該場友誼賽則迎戰華倫西亞。
