J·G·巴拉德

詹姆斯·格雷厄姆·“J·G”·巴拉德（，），英國小說家、短篇小說作家、散文家。

巴拉德一直以來被認為是世界末日（或後世界末日）小說大師，如《被淹沒的世界》（，1962），《燃燒的世界》（，1964）和《水晶世界》（，1966）。雖然巴拉德的許多小说主題和敘事颇不尋常，但是最著名的作品，还是相對傳統的戰爭小說，半自传体的《太阳帝国》（1984年）描写一个英国小男孩在日本占领上海期间的经历，被《卫报》形容為英國最好的关于二战的小說，并于1987年由斯皮尔伯格改编为同名电影。

巴拉德的父亲是曼彻斯特的兆祥洋行（又名震寰织造厂有限公司，Calico Printers' Association）上海子公司纶昌漂染印花有限公司（China Printing and Finishing Company，创建于1925年，设于四川中路220号）的经理。巴拉德在上海公共租界沪西越界筑路的哥伦比亚路（今长宁区番禺路508号馨悦会所）的一幢豪宅出生长大，该区的外侨在那里过着美国的生活方式。巴拉德就读于外滩附近圣三一座堂的附属座堂男校。1937年淞沪会战爆发后，巴拉德一家被迫暂时撤离郊区的住宅，在上海市中心租了一幢房子，以避免中国和日本军队的炮击。1941年太平洋战争爆发后，日本人占领了上海公共租界。1943年初，他们将盟国平民关押进龙华集中营，巴拉德和他的父母和妹妹都被关押在那里，度过了两年时间，直到战争结束。
