蓋爾彗星

蓋爾彗星是澳洲天文學家華特·弗雷德里克·蓋爾於1927年6月7日在雪梨發現的一顆太陽系內的週期彗星。

依據計算它應該在1938年再度出現，但是蓋爾未能再度發現它。但是，Leland E. Cunningham從新計算之後，在當年的稍晚就發現了。

它在1949年未被檢測到，並且因為不利的觀測條件，此後就再也沒有尋獲。因此它被列為失蹤的彗星。
