哲學系

哲學系是一個通常隸屬於文學院的學系，現亦有以學院命名一般世界各國的著名大學均設有哲學系，主要是培養有具有卓越思考能力﹑懷疑精神、批判能力與質疑既有道德與價值觀的學生。北京大學於1914年設立中國哲學門，1919年改為哲學系，是中國大陸最早設立哲學系的大學。南京大學（中央大學）在本有經學理學學程基礎上於民國早年成為西方哲學特別是古希臘哲學引入的先驅，並於1920年成立哲學系，1917年更名哲學院，此為哲學作為學院的最早命名。而台灣最早設立哲學系的學校是國立臺灣大學（日治時期的台北帝國大學）；日治時期臺北帝國大學創建之初就已經成立文政與理農兩學部（學院），文政學部下置哲學、史學、文學及政學四科，1945年臺灣由中華民國接管後設為哲學系，並在臺灣最設立哲學研究所。
