东北大学 (美国)

东北大学（，缩写：），是一所坐落于美国东北部麻薩諸塞州的波士顿市中心地區的私立研究型大学，近年來在北卡罗来纳州夏洛特和華盛頓州的西雅圖市建造了新校區。东北大学成立于1898年，由八个学院组成，有65个系具备本科学历授予资质、125个专业提供了研究生教育，可以授予硕士、博士和职业教育学位。該校國際學生占學生總數三成五。东北大学的教学具有鲜明的學術與實務結合的特色，合作专業课程使东北大学的授课具有突破性的实践意义，在2010、2011、2013、2015年的《普林斯顿评论》评选出的“最佳实习/职业服务”大学中名列第一位。《US News and World Report》中東北大學2017年本科綜合排名全美第39名, 2018年全球第228名。

历史
的基督教青年会青年夜校|left]]1898年，基督教青年会在波士顿创办了东北大学的前身青年夜校，并于同年十月三日开始授课。由于波士顿地区迅猛增长的人口对高质量课程的需求，成立仅仅几年，青年夜校就开设了多个学科的课程，覆盖了法律、工程、金融等多个专业。

1909年，学校改为全日制大学。1913学校搬迁到了现址亨廷顿大街（Huntington Avenue）。1916年，青年夜校获得了本科学位授予资格。

1922年，学校更名为东北大学。此后的几年中，学校规模迅速扩大，购买了亨廷顿大街的大片区域作并入校园。

1935年，东北大学开设了艺术学院。

1937年，东北大学董事会成立。1948年，东北大学脱离基督教青年会，成为一个独立运营的大学。

二战之后，东北大学又新建了多个学院：自然科学院、教育学院（1953）、成人教育学院（1960）、医学院（1964）、法学院（1967）、商学院、工学院、计算机学院（1982）等。

交通
东北大学位于波士顿核心区域，公共交通非常便利。波士顿轻轨绿线E支线设有到达东北大学（Northeastern University）以及位于校园西角的美术馆（Museum of Fine Arts）的站点，搭乘轻轨到波士顿公园耗时8分钟，到政府中心（Government Center）站（可换乘波士顿地铁蓝线前往机场及里埃维耶（Revere）海滩）耗时10分钟，到波士顿公共市场（Haymarket（干草市场）站）12分钟。位于校园南侧的拉格爾斯站（Ruggles）可搭乘波士顿地铁橙线以及波士顿通勤铁路。从拉格爾斯站搭乘地铁橙线到唐人街耗时10分钟，到波士顿北站耗时16分钟，到「组装（Assembly）购物区」（组装厂站）耗时22分钟。乘坐MBTA通勤线（MBTA Commuter Rail）到普罗维登斯则耗时一小时。

除轨道交通外还有MBTA运营的巴士线路服务东北大学校园。位于校园东侧的马萨诸塞州大街（Massachusetts Ave）上可搭乘公交1路，10分钟到达麻省理工大学，18分钟到达哈佛大学。在Ruggles站可搭乘公交22、23路前往富兰克林动物园，耗时20分钟。位于校园西侧的Ruggles St上可搭乘公交47、CT2路前往波士顿大学，耗时15分钟。8路公交停靠拉格爾斯地铁站，可到达南湾购物区（South Bay Mall），耗时约20分钟。

东北大学在《美国新闻与世界报道》的大学排名中增速极快，从1996年的162名猛增到了2015年的42名，得益于前任校长 Richard Freeland。根据《波士顿》杂志的报道，在Freeland 校长入职后其将学校战略调整为提升排名。
