吴新智

吴新智（），男，安徽合肥人，中国古人类学家、中国科学院院士，中国共产党党员。

生平
1928年6月2日出生于安徽合肥。1953年毕业于上海医学院，在大连医学院工作。1961年中国科学院研究生毕业，留在中国科学院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所工作，历任助理研究员、副研究员、研究员、博士生导师，兼任人类室主任、副所长。2021年12月4日在北京逝世。

社会兼职
曾任中国解剖学会常务理事、副理事长、名誉理事长、人类学专业委员会主任、中国古生物学会荣誉理事、《人类学学报》主编、《中国大百科全书》（第二版）人类学主编。

奖项和荣誉
奖项
曾获国家科学技术进步二等奖，中国科学院自然科学一等奖、郭沫若中国历史学奖二等奖。2013年获得人类学终身成就奖金琮奖。

荣誉
1986年获得国务院政府特殊津贴。1990年获选中国科学院优秀研究生导师。1999年当选为中国科学院院士。2019年获得中国古生物学会终身成就荣誉。

学术贡献
吴新智以对人类单地起源说的批评闻名。他于1984年与、一起提出多地区进化说，并于1998年提出“连续进化附带杂交”假说以描述中国地区人类的进化。开创并推动中国的灵长类解剖学和法医人类学研究。
