2013年國際足協洲際國家盃（），即第 9 屆洲際國家盃，于2013年6月15日至30日在巴西舉行，作為2014年世界盃的前奏。本屆賽事亦是歷屆賽事中最多世界盃冠軍參加的一次，包括烏拉圭（1930年，1950年），巴西（1958年，1962年，1970年，1994年，2002年），意大利（1934年，1938年，1982年，2006年）及西班牙（2010年）。
由於部分賽期與2014年世界盃亞洲區外圍賽的第四圈重疊，故此亞洲足球協會要求國際足球協會考慮更改賽期，亞洲足球協會最終決定更改日本的世界盃外圍賽期以遷就洲際國家盃，之後也令中北美洲及加勒比海足球協會和非洲足協把墨西哥和尼日利亞的世界盃外圍賽賽程改期。
東道主及衛冕冠軍巴西隊在決賽中 3–0 完勝世界盃和歐國盃雙料冠軍西班牙隊，從而實現洲際國家盃歷史上史無前例的三連冠，同時終結了西班牙隊創造了近三年連續29場不敗的驚人紀錄。西班牙隊雖然未能奪冠，未能成為繼阿根廷隊和法國隊之後第三支球隊實現國際賽三大滿貫（世界盃足球賽，奧運會足球比賽和聯合會盃足球賽）的球隊，但也創造了的五年內四次進入世界大賽決賽（2008年歐洲盃、2010年世界盃、2012年歐洲盃，2013年聯合會盃）的驚人紀錄。

球門線技術
2013年4月3日，國際足協宣佈與入球控制股份有限公司（GoalControl GMbH）簽約，這間德國公司將為2013年的洲際國家杯，以及2014年巴西世界杯提供球門線技術。這間公司的技術，需要在球場14個不同位置安裝14台高速攝像機，行業稱之為GoalControl 4-D技術，然後透過電腦識別攝像機記錄的影像快速判斷入球是否越過球門線。
香港電視轉播權
電視廣播有限公司（無線電視）在2013年5月22日宣布投得2014年世界盃足球賽在所有收看平台的香港獨家廣播權，無線是次所投得的世界盃電視轉播權，還「附送」2013年6月舉行的洲際國家盃和世青盃。今次也是無線首次轉播洲際國家盃和世青盃。評述陣容有：何輝、鍾志光、黃興桂、陳恩能、李偉文及潘文迪。無線電視更派出陳百祥和李思雅到巴西拍攝特輯。至於香港版本的中國中央電視台綜合頻道方面，由於中央電視台只拿到中國大陸的轉播權，因此香港版本將會改播其他節目。
