《逃往埃及》是早期意大利文艺复兴时期的先驱者乔托的作品。约作于1305-1306年。这是帕都亚的圣马利亚阿莱那礼拜堂中《圣母和基督传》37幅壁画中最杰出的一幅。
这幅画描绘耶稣出生后，为了躲避希律王的杀戳，全家人在天未拂晓之前从巴勒斯坦逃往埃及的情景。在这个传统的宗教题材中，乔托突破了意大利拜占庭艺术的僵化形式，运用初步的写实技巧，将有关人物和故事场面表现得生动活泼，赋予人物高度的自然与立体感。
图中，圣母表情严肃，仿佛在为儿子的命运担心。走在前面的约瑟正回头和送行的人话别。在毛驴后面，三个送行的人互相议论，天使从空中飞来，表示对这一行人的保护和关怀。
构图层次分明，气氛庄重朴实，画家通过“面向自然”创造出具有现实生活情趣的图画，体现了人文主义的反封建思想。这幅壁画中玛利亚抱着婴儿骑着毛驴的形象和背景的山丘树木虽然还有不少缺陷，但却奠定了文艺复兴现实主义的创作风格。对日后新艺术的发展影响至深。
