阿法爾語

阿法爾語（Afar，）屬於低地東庫希特語支，與薩霍語（Saho language）最接近，使用的地區包括埃塞俄比亞、厄立特里亞和吉布提，使用者的識字率約百分之1至3，而使用阿法爾語的阿法爾人有150萬。與其他東庫希特語支一樣，阿法爾語採用主賓謂結構。

阿法爾語中正字的輔音讀音如下（括號內為國際音標）︰

音節末的輔音有除阻，例如。

元音和重音
: 短音*

• 肯定動詞的尾音送氣（和重音），如**' 「他做」= 。
• 否定動詞的尾音是不送氣（和不重音），如**' 「他沒有做」 = 。
• 疑問動詞的尾音拉長（和重音），如**' 「他做嗎」 = 。
• 其他情況下，重音放在字末。

語音組合
音節以 (C)V(V)(C) 組成（C=輔音，V=元音），唯一的例外是輔音群 -str。

書寫方法
阿法爾語以拉丁字母或吉茲字母書寫。
