赤祖父俊一

赤祖父俊一（，），出生於日本長野縣佐久市，美国地球物理学家，阿拉斯加費爾班克大學的國際北極研究中心的創建人，並且從1998年成立以來，一直擔任董事，直到2007年1月，而在之前從1986年起，他也是地球物理研究所的所長。

背景
赤祖父俊一於1953年和1957年在日本仙台的東北大學獲得地球物理學的學士和碩士學位，然後於1961年在阿拉斯加費爾班克大學獲得地球物理學的博士學位。他的博士論文架構在極光的研究上，指導教授是西尼·查普曼。從1964年開始，他就是阿拉斯加費爾班克大學的地球物理學教授。

他從1986年至1999年也是地球科學研究所的教授，在這段期間成立了阿拉斯加火山觀測所和進行撲克坪研究基地的現代化。他在1998年成立了第一個國際北極研究中心，並且擔任第一屆董事，並且直到2007年才卸任。同年，國際北極研究中心的建築也以他的名字命名，以推崇他的績效。
