比林語

比林語（Blin language）是厄立特里亞唯一的中庫希特語支，克倫有70,000人使用這種語言。

吉茲字母
傳教士在1882年開始利用閃米特語族的吉茲字母來記錄比林語，由於兩者音位相近，只要輕微調整字母便可推行（增加輔音 和 ）。有些新增符號在Unicode中屬於埃塞俄比亞語擴展（Ethiopic Extended）而不是埃塞俄比亞語（Ethiopic）。

比林語和標準吉茲字母的順序有少許分別，下表是基本符號，

比林語額外需要5個圓唇軟顎音的變種（labiovelar variant）︰

拉丁字母
1985年，厄立特里亞人民解放陣線決定把比林語和其他厄立特里亞少數語言以拉丁字母表示，這是政治考慮到吉茲字母和基督教禮拜儀式關係密切，而拉丁字母較中立。1993年，政府成立委員會負責把比林語標準化和推行以拉丁字母為基礎的正字運動。
