奈杰尔·霍桑

| birth_name = 奈杰尔·巴纳德·霍桑爵士。他在南非长大并且其间就读于开普敦的圣乔治文法学校和那里的基督教兄弟学院。 他被开普敦大学录取但是后来退学，并在二十世纪五十年代返回英国开始了他的表演生涯

个人生活及逝世
霍桑并不喜欢他人来关注他的私生活，他对在1995年奥斯卡奖时被公众公开为同性恋的事情感到不满。但是在参加奥斯卡颁奖礼时，他是同自己的同性伴侣（Trevor Bentham）一起出席的。他在自己身后所出版的自传《绷着脸》(Nigel Hawthorne: Straight Face)中也公开了自己同性恋的事实。

霍桑在生前做过几次胰腺癌手术，但是他在72岁时死于心肌梗死。他将自己的遗产留给了同性伴侣特雷弗·边沁并且被埋葬在沃特福德的桑德瑞（Thundridge）教区教堂旁。
