粒子探测器（），是在物理实验、原子核物理学等领域用于探测、跟踪和鉴别高能粒子的一种物理实验设备。现代粒子探测器也用于测量放射粒子的能量、动量、旋转和电荷等等。
描述
为现代粒子加速器设计的粒子探测器外部尺寸和造价都很庞大。当粒子探测器仅仅计数粒子的数目但不解析粒子的能量时，经常用术语“计数器”来代替“探测器”。如果仪器的主要目的是测量放射，通常以“放射探测器”来命名，不过由于光子同样是（极小质量）的粒子，术语“粒子探测器”仍然正确。
实例与分类
目前，许多已经研制成功的例子探测器都是电离探测器（其中又以气体电离探测器和半导体探测器最为典型）和火花探测器。不过另一方面，完全不同的准则也被应用，像Čerenkov光和过渡放射。
