麻蝇即肉蝇，是雙翅目麻蝇科（學名：）下的所有苍蝇的统称。麻蝇以卵胎生的方式繁殖，大部分种类的麻蝇都在腐肉、粪便或者腐败的物质上产下蛆，少数种类会在哺乳动物的伤口上产蛆，还有一些种类会将蛆产在其他昆虫身上，成为这些昆虫的寄生虫。虽广泛分布于世界，但多分布于热带。多为腐食性，雌体将幼虫（不是卵）产在腐肉上。有的寄生于昆虫。凯得氏麻蝇寄生于蝗虫，把幼虫产在蝗虫翅的下面，幼虫钻入其体内食其内部器官，后在土中化蛹。
特征
成年肉蝇的胸部常有灰色和黑色相间的纵向条纹，而在腹部则成方格状。
