在Unix系統中， KWin是一个Wayland窗口合成器，也曾是X Window系統中的一個窗口管理器。其曾构成KDE Software Compilation的一部分，现在则作为KDE Plasma的一部分发布并作为 KDE Plasma 的默认窗口合成器，它亦可以单独使用或用于其他的桌面環境。

KWin可由基于ECMAScript的脚本（如QML、QtScript）来进行配置。
歷史
Plasma 4 及之前版本的时期（KWM 1、KWin 2 到 Kwin 4）
Plasma 5 时期（KWin 5）
在 KDE Plasma 5 时代，KWin 的技术架构迁移至 Qt 5，并逐步引入对 Wayland 协议的更广泛的支持。
Plasma 6 时期（KWin 6）
随着 KDE Plasma 6 的发布，KWin 的技术架构也迁移至 Qt 6，并默认将 Wayland 设置为会话后端，X11 会话仍被支持但退居至兼容地位。
